Individual therapy for teens

Is your teenager moody, withdrawn, anxious, self medicating, or acting in a self-destructive way? Are they having problems managing or expressing their feelings? Are they refusing to talk to you about what’s going on with them or maybe they have asked to start therapy? Maybe worse, they getting in trouble with the law or are already involved with juvenile probation?

Your teenager could benefit from therapy with a professional who specializes in working with adolescents, especially when they need to talk about the stress of being a teenager. Being a teenager is hard enough, we all know that, but the last two years has made that experience more stressful for most kiddos.

Teenagers can be moody, critical, combative, and unpredictable, but they are also creative, energetic, and excited about the world and their place in it. Sometimes it can de difficult to differentiate "normal" changes and "concerning" changes. This is where I can help.

I see adolescents ages 12+ via tele-health and currently have some after school availability available. I can provide school excuses for individuals scheduling during school hours or can coordinate with school officials who have space available to allow students time at school to attend therapy. If your child is involved with juvenile probation, I have significant experience working with these agencies and am able to provide documentation to the JPOs as needed.

Is this just a phase? Will they grow out of it. Has your teen gone astray?

If you are wondering if the time and money involved in therapy will be worth the effort. please know that this is the  ideal time to get them back on track. Lessons learned during therapy can prepare teens for success later in life, allow them to manage their emotions, preserve relationships, make better choices, and help them function more effectively for years to come.
