As a veteran or active/reserve duty military member, you have a unique set of circumstances and experiences that others do not share. The sometimes dangerous and traumatic environment in which members of the military serve can lead to PTSD as well as other issues, such as substance abuse or traumatic brain injury. When returning home, some veterans have trouble adjusting to life outside of the military and may feel disconnected from family and friends. They may isolate themselves, experience anxiety and/or depression. Military life can also have an effect on other members of the family system.
As a former military wife, a current military mom (x2), and a therapist trained specifically in working with veterans and military members, I can help.
I have trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) through Strong Star Initiative which is dedicated to specifically serving veterans and military members. Additionally I am trauma certified and trained in other modalities which will be beneficial in working with you whether you are struggling with life struggles or PTSD.
You have gotten yourself this far, now let's take the next step together. Let's get you on the road to feeling some hope. Hope that you can stop looking over your shoulder, feeling like it should have been you, feeling that the world is not a safe place, scared to go out, jumping at every sound, unable to sleep, unable to even feel anything anymore.
Thank you for your service!
